On 28 June in Lisbon, Portugal, DAWN had the honor to co-organise an event on deep-sea mining at the United Nations Oceans Conference 2022 in coordination with the Government of Tuvalu and the Pacific Parliamentarians Alliance: ”Currents of Policy Change: Reviewing Our Common Heritage and Common Responsibility in Light of the Climate Crisis and Dangers of Deepwater Mining”.
The event featured voices from political leaders from Small Island Developing States (SIDS) on the currents of ocean governance and the need for new global policy commitments.
