It’s not every day a CSO can interpellate a government in a multilateral space but the efforts paid off. The FPV team, represented by Kumudini Samuel, Chee Yoke Ling, and Rajnia de Vito, supported by DAWN, TWN, IWRAW-AP, and CELS, advocated with the CEDAW’s Committee 83rd Session celebrated last October in Geneva, Switzerland.
Switzerland and Belgium were questioned by CEDAW Committee members about their extra-territorial obligations and duties to a global public good strategy to provide equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines, medications, and testing and to safeguard women’s right to health.
