DAWN Online Training (DOT) was a series of online learning sessions focused on our analytical framework on the Political Economy of Conflict (PEC) and Violence Against Women (VAW) in the global South.
Under the theme, “EXPLORING STRUCTURAL VIOLENCE FROM A POLITICAL ECONOMY OF LENS”, the aim was to collectively build knowledge and analysis on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) from a political economy lens, drawing from participants’ everyday experiences in responding to GBV.
The training programme included four intensive group work sessions as well as homework assignments to explore how this political economy lens might be useful for their work and future strategies.
Other points explored:
Developing advocacy tools for local, national and regional levels
Building strong connections and networks to enable future collective activism in South Africa.
DOT ’22 was co-organised by DAWN and Masimanyane Women’s Rights International.
