This workshop will follow up on the debates of the Feminist Forum against Free Trade and the Great Feminist Assembly that took place last December in Buentos Aires, Argentina, as part of the actions of the People´s Summit “Out WTO! Building Sovereignty”, where more than 200 women, lesbians, travesties, bisexuals, non-binaries, gays, afrodescendents, migrants, displaced, refugees, indigenous, black and peasant women, self-managed workers of different religions, identities, sectors, ethnical background and cultures joined their voices for the construction of an alternative agenda to challenge the current neoliberal and corporate globalization project.

Slogan: No right less! / Não há menos direito!

Once again, on March 8, 2018, the International Women´s Strike is taking place. The success of this strike shows the vitality of the women’s and feminist movement in the world. In this workshop we want to live the joy of this victory and use that energy to encourage our fighting in 2018. Striking is a a tool known and used for a long time by workers worldwide; it is pertinent that women use it now, because the neoliberal globalization is attacking salaried work and also the other multiple forms of work, especially the unpaid reproductive work of women and diverse forms of common production in communities, indigenous lands, quilombos and urban peripheries. We want to deepen this new understanding by taking stock of the new formats used in this year’s shutdowns, and also prepare for the G20 Feminist Forum Forum project in Argentina next November. Let us prepare our defense of life in the face of the macabre and violent bet of capital on the population and on the body of women and trans, lesbians and bisexuals.
