SRHR Panel Discussion “SRHR in the Pacific for the next decades – what’s been achieved? What lies ahead?”

On Wednesday 19th August, 2015, DAWN together with the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement (FWRM) organised a panel discussion on “SRHR in the Pacific for the next decades: What’s been achieved? What lies ahead?” at the AusAID Performance Space at the University of the South Pacific in Suva.

The panel saw DAWN General Coordinator, Dr Gita Sen, as the moderator of the event, and had Pacific experts elaborating on various aspects of the theme:

  • Tara Chetty, Executive Director (FWRM)
  • Veena Singh, Pacific SRHR Coalition, and Pacific Young Women’s Leadership Alliance (PYWLA)
  • Miki Wali, Haus of Khameleon and Pacific Youth Council (PYC)
  • Raijeli Nicole, Chief Executive Officer, Save the Children Fiji (STC- Fiji)

DAWN Board Chair Dr Claire Slatter spoke about the efforts of Josefa Francisco, former DAWN General Coordinator who sadly passed away last month. A three-minute video prepared for Gigi on her 60th birthday was shown as well.
