The Public Forum on “Women’s Rights in Post 2015 Development Agenda” co-organized by in China Women’s College was held on June 9th evening.
Over 50 people attended the public forum, including the teachers and students from the China Women’s College and Renmin Univesity, NGO representatives and media. Dr. Liu Meng, the vice president of the College and Celita Eccher, Board member of DAWN gave the opening remarks.
DAWN members gave the four presentations on topics of “On Building South Feminist Development Alternatives” by Noelene Nabulivou, “The Changing Context for Women’s Rights: A Southern Perspective” by Dr Gita Sen, and “Key southern feminist messages on the Post2015 Development Agenda debates” by Nicole Bidegain.
Two prestige Chinese scholars — Prof. Liu Bohong, professor in China Women’s College and former deputy director of Women’s Studies Institute of China and Dr. Li Yingtao, professor in Center of Gender and Global Studies, School of International Relations and Diplomacy, Beijing Foreign Studies University – are invited to be the discussants to give their insights on current gender development in China and their perspective on the current global development.
The forum concluded after the interactive discussion and dialogue among speakers and audiences.
