Side event by: Women’s Working Group on Financing for Development together with the Addis CSO Coordinating Group, co-sponsored by Government of Uruguay, Government of Iceland, Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, UN Women, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung
The outcome of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD3) will affect the ability of States to fulfill their human rights, including women’s human rights obligations and to achieve the realization of the Post-2015 Development Agenda, including the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event will present the latest analysis of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda from a feminist and women’s rights perspective and highlight key issues that are at stake given the potential of the FfD process to either contribute to achieve economic justice and advance the realization of human rights for all or to further entrench human rights abuses and to exacerbate gender inequality.
The session will also draw on the recommendations from the publication of the Women’s Working Group on Financing for Development – Realizing Women’s Human Rights in Development- which will be launched at the event. Highlights from the Women’s Forum on Financing for Development and the CSO Forum will also be presented.
This moderated session will have an open discussion among women’s/CSO representatives and government/UN officials.
