Gita Sen was a keynote speaker at the opening plenary of 8th ICAE World Assembly on 15 June 2011 in Malmo, Sweden. In her speech, Gita linked DAWN’s emerging analysis of the new challenges of the ‘fierce new world’ to the role of the intellectual / educator. The ICAE World Assembly brings together adult educators and learners from around the world every four years, and is devoted to the construction of just and equitable societies.
