On the two-year mark of the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the #Fem4PeoplesVaccine campaign brings forth the voice of the groups most marginalized and most affected by Covid-19 and highlights the gendered impacts of this health crisis.
Global South feminists demand that the #TRIPSwaiver be adopted immediately. This measure would allow the world to produce #Covid19 vaccines at full capacity, as well as therapeutics & diagnostics. We can’t fool ourselves, the pandemic is not ending, not for rich countries and much less for low-income countries. We can’t defeat the virus with vaccines alone, we need treatments, testing, and health strategies integrated into health systems. We need a comprehensive and global response. Coordinated access to all these elements will only materialize if we suspend intellectual property privileges.
