Bright Sky tells the story of a family’s hope of a better future dimmed by an alliance between the state and foreign corporations and the broken promises of progress and development.

This animation is the first of a series of animated and live-action films produced under the project “Old Dog, New Tricks: Neocolonialism & Public-Private Partnerships in the Global South ” that highlights the effects of PPPs on women’s lives. The project also focuses on the deterioration of working conditions by promoting casual contracts and different degrees of informal work, in what’s quickly becoming a trend of late stage capitalism.
