DAWN in Adrienne Germaine’s Population Award Speech

Adrienne Germaine, a long-time feminist and pioneer of sexual and reproductive health and rights, is one of two recipients of the 2012 United Nations Population Award. In her acceptance speech, Adrienne took note of the “Hundreds of millions of women, and over one billion adolescents, have yet to benefit from the sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights promises made at the path-breaking 1994 International Conference on Population and Development, the ICPD.” She cited the courageous women, men and organizations that continue to defend SRHR amidst attempts to undo policy gains already won, DAWN included.
