DAWN calls for full and immediate attention by the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, Police Commissioner and Ministry for Women in the case of an alleged pack rape of an 18-year-old girl by Police officers in East Sepik Province. We stand with Women Human Rights Defenders such as Sophie Mangai and the women activists of the East Sepik Council of Women. Media reports state that Sophie Magai is being held in detention, and we call for her immediate and unconditional release.
